Free socks and pants for the homeless in Nottingham - Norman Galloway Homes
It's that time of year when, under normal circumstances, we would all be looking to spend valuable time with our families and friends. We are the lucky ones... Sadly, not everyone is as fortunate, and for some, the most that they can hope for is a little kindness from the rest of us.
For the homeless in Nottingham, and 'yes', alarmingly, there still are some people living on the streets, the winter months can be extremely harsh. AS Chair of Norman Galloway Homes, I was thrilled when Terry Galloway, Managing Director, Norman Galloway Homes, had an inspirational moment. He was inspired by Guru Nanak's Mission, who week in and week out, provide hot meals to our city's homeless.
Terry came up with the simple, yet brilliant idea of giving away new thermal socks and pants to those in most need. Within a week, in true Terry style, the socks and pants were on the street and available to those in need.

Socks and pants really shouldn't be just for Christmas, so we aim to give them away ongoing. Whilst we created a crowdfunding page to get us started, longer-term we are looking for other businesses to 'sponsor a month' throughout the year. If you'd like to learn more, do get in touch, Terry would love to hear from you.
If you'd like to learn more, here's Terry talking about the care system and how it relates to homelessness and of course, free socks and pants.
